Follow the steps below to register as a voter in Oklahoma:

 

Eligibility:
To vote in Oklahoma you must be at least 18 years of age, a United States citizen, and a resident of Oklahoma.

Filling Out an Application:
You must fill out a voter registration application in order to vote.

 

In-Person: 
Voter registration forms are available at the Election Board Office, tag agencies, public libraries, post offices and the State Election Board Office.

 

Online: 
You may also download the voter registration form on the State Election Board Website (Form).

Submitting an Application
After filling out the voter registration form, you may drop it off at the Election Board Office or mail it to the State Election Board Office. When mailing, the form is already addressed to the State Election Board Office, however, you must include a first-class postage stamp.

 

When to Register
Voter registration forms are accepted at any time. However, the Election Board Office cannot issue a voter identification card 24 days before an election. If you become eligible to vote 60 days before an election day, you may send in your application before you become eligible. For example, if your 18th birthday is 30 days before an election, you may send in a voter registration application before your birthday, but no earlier than 60 days before election day. You will receive your voter identification card after your birthday.

 

Voter Identification Card
You are not registered to vote until the Election Board Office approves your voter registration application. When your application is approved, you will be mailed your voter identification card. The card will list your name, address, political affiliation, and the polling place for your voting precinct.

 

When you receive your voter identification card, review it carefully for errors. Call the Election Board Office at 580-353-1880 if there are any errors.

 

Keep your voter identification card in a safe place and bring it with you whenever you go to vote.

 

If the Election Board Office cannot approve your voter registration application, you will be mailed a letter explaining why you were not approved and the steps you can take to become registered.

 

Changing Your Voter Information
If you need to change any information after you become registered, you must fill out a new application. Changes could include address, name and political affiliation. You may change your voter registration at any time, except your political affiliation between June 1 and August 31 in even-numbered years.
