Johnny Owens is a native of Lawton-Fort Sill and has been in the Commercial Real Estate business since 1989. He then ventured out on his own and opened his own real estate company in 1992, where he has since become the leading commercial real estate company and broker in Southwest Oklahoma.

He has been very instrumental in the growth of Lawton-Fort Sill, in bringing many name brand companies and national chain franchises to the area such as Applebee’s, Chili’s, Outback Steakhouse, Santa Fe Cattle Company, Starbucks, Lowe’s, O’Reilly’s, Bank of America, and many others. Commissioner Owens stays involved in the revitalization of the downtown Lawton-Fort Sill area and in the continuing growth of Lawton-Fort Sill.

He attended Cameron University and Southwestern University, and is an active member of the United States Field Artillery Association, Association of the United States Army (AUSA), Mt. Scott Masonic Lodge, Lawton-Fort Sill Shriners, Arvest Bank - Board of Directors, Lawton-Fort Sill Co-op, City of Lawton-Fort Sill Traffic Commission, Board of Adjustments for the City of Lawton-Fort Sill, Board member of the Lawton-Fort Sill Correctional Facility, Cameron University’s President’s Partners, Lawton-Fort Sill Cannon Cockers, Meet the Needs, Lawton-Fort Sill Home Builders Association, Board of Director of Lawton-Fort Sill Board of Realtors, National and Oklahoma Association of Realtors, Festival of Lights, Ducks Unlimited, Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Starlight for Kids, Lawton Country Club – Marketing Committee, and Central Baptist Church.

His hobbies and interests include golf, real estate auctions, antique collecting, and traveling.

Since being voted the Comanche County Distrcit 2 Commissioner, Owens has made it a point to focus on upgrades and improvements on the courthouse. He also plans to continue the improvement of teamwork between Comanche County and Lawton.
