"The mission of the Detention Center is to protect the citizens of Comanche County by properly detaining all persons entrusted to our custody in a safe, secure, and humane manner."
On September 1, 2003, under the direction of the Comanche County Facilities Authority, the Comanche County Detention Center took over operations of the old Comanche County Jail. After months of training new officers and completing work on the new state-of-the-art facility, the center housed its first inmate by mid-January of the following year.
Since then, this state-of-the-art facility has housed inmates from local, state, and federal agencies.
From its well-trained staff (who strive to provide a safe and secure facility), administration (who strive to act as good stewards of the taxpayers of Comanche County in their financial dealings), and many implemented programs (to help reduce the recidivism rate within the county), the Comanche County Detention Center is setting many standards for detention centers across the state and beyond.
